Warren Miller of All Programmable Planet has a plan to turn his research and writings about teaching an FPGA to play chess into a real thing – at next year’s Design West event. His plan is to have “an extravaganza at Design West 2014 in which electronic “Robot” chess players can compete on the big stage.” Okay then, sounds like this is right up our alley. In addition to the FPGAs/MCUs fighting each other, humans will get a chance to compete against the “Robots,” so you will have the chance to demonstrate your superiority (or lack thereof) over silicon-based life forms. Having said this, humans are not eligible for the “Robot-only” grand prize.
